For certain applications like boiler casing seals, silicone sponge and silicone foam offer many advantages over solid silicone rubber as their extreme compressibility allows the materials to conform to the tightest of corners and still maintain sealing functionality.

Using a continuous extrusion process, Silicone Altimex produces closed cell silicone sponge and silicone foam that will allow for the following:

• Application of pressure sensitive self-adhesive to a specific face
• Slitting of flat strips to custom widths
• Further fabrication for the creation of specific sizes or punched and finished gaskets
• Production in a wide range of densities, from 0.2g/cm³ to 0.8g/cm³
• Sponge joining to form rings for seals and gaskets or for any sealing application that requires a lower compression force
• Very low moisture absorption and excellent thermal stability from -50ºC to +200ºC
